Today was Grandpere's birthday, SO we headed up, after first stopping as requested to pick up a chocolate explosion cake from the Nugget Grocery.  It was RICH.  We really are blessed to have family so close, I wish ALL our family was closer, but this is nice:-)   The littles play in there own world, while the big littles play all over the house.  While the Bigs chat and laugh and eat:-)

Tonight Holden begged to take a shower...Daniel never being a fan of showers wasn't sure, but 5 minutes into Holden being in the shower Daniel HAD to get in. Water is often a peacemaker, and a calm in storms for our kids...bad days are always made better with baths or showers. Today was a good day so it was icing on the cake:-)

January 1st and the tree came down.  Tom and I were in agreement and even the boys didn't protest too much!  Although Daniel has asked for "frosty" A LOT!  I am quite sure there will be some tears over the next few days...but then next year there will be great excitement when he comes out:-)   Welcome 2012, I look forward to what you have in store.

Today for the first time I heard Daniel say a prayer that I understood.  He prayed for our meal, and he said, "Dear God, tank you for dis good food we get.  Amen"  SO sweet, and at bed time he prayed that EXACT same prayer again:-) I pray my boys know and LOVE God, remaining close to him and child-like in their unwavering belief in who He is.

STILL napping in his chair, NOT in his bed WITH his PUPPY and his BEAR.  Sometimes he is in his room for over an HOUR, and we hear what can only be described as gymnastics before he finally settles down to bed.  We can usually tell when sleep is coming because we hear him singing to his Puppy.  And ironically this is how he wakes up most days, singing.  Maybe God has put a song on his heart?

Daniel is OBSESSED with the baby Jesus from the nativity scene my mom made us.  He carries him around all day, makes Mary and the Angel take turns holding him.  It's great!  And he was all proud tonight when we were picking books that he knew the bible was the story of the baby Jesus.  He is SO cute, and can say so much now!  I like this stage, although tantruming and screaming, "you BAD mommy"

Holden declares EVERYDAY that decorating the tree is HIS favorite part!  AND I do believe he has put 75% of the ornaments on the tree:-)  Such a sweet kid, and this year he is quite proud that he can go to the top of the ladder by himself and put the high ones on.  He is also in charge of watering this tree, so far it's been good, even if it has been a little messy, or should I say "wet"

Sleep is VERY important in this house.  When Holden transitioned to a big boy bed he stayed in bed OR came out to see us! This is not the case with Daniel.  We do our routine, and I put him in bed awake, he says, "nigh, nigh mommy" AND then quite often I can hear him milling around in there.  BUT he NEVER comes out of his room!  It's kind of crazy, and he usually falls asleep within 20 minutes

And it was fun!!! These boys certainly don't!  Who would have thought the packaging from some tile samples would be so fun, but as soon as I opened the box, they were asking me if they could play. Everyday from the time we wake up, until we actually go in I hear, "can we go in the pool?" and "iwan poo"  These boys LOVE to be in the water.  It's fun, now we wait for daddy to finish work, go for his run, and then they head to the pool:-)  I caught these the other day between working in my garden and making dinner:-)

On our way home from camping yesterday Tom and I decided we wanted to have an impromptu get together for the 4th.  We have amazing friends, and some of them were able to come and hang out, it's so easy to throw these things together, especially in the summer with a pool:-) So our fourth was spent as it should be in the pool, with family and friends, good food was involved too! Yesterday, we had Holden's preschool graduation.  I know I have said it before BUT Ms. Wendy rocks!  Before this day, I really didn't see any reason for a "graduation" ceremony from preschool.  But, now that I have experienced it, it IS a nice way to end the year and celebrate entering into the kindergarten stage:-)  She had a slideshow, cake, BBQ, and a special memory from each kiddo...Holden

Our church had it's annual golf tournament to raise money for our VBS.  Yesterday Holden's preschool class had their Easter celebrations, as they kicked off Spring Break!  It started with a family homework assignment to make an Easter hat for the parade...Holden and I headed to the dollar store, and loaded up on Eggs, snakes, flower (blue of course), and bugs...Then we headed home and made this LOVELY creation:-)   It's extremely hard to get a class picture!

at The Home Show of course:-)  Here is Beth in her Verde Green. What's that?  A monkey on your back?  Daniel came with us:-)  Don't look now but although he's a bit bigger I have this exact same picture from the show last year!  Complete with my green vest and green carrier!  AND me:-)  We had fun, and Daniel was awesomely happy being carried around!
