First Day of Pre-K

So now that Holden is 4 he is in the big kiddo Pre K class...although all I hear about is he wants to go to Kindergarten with MJ!  He says, " Am I going to Kindergarten?"  I say, "No that's next year when you are 5", He says, " BUT I am 4 and MJ is 4"...then I explain he just turned 4 and MJ will be 5 in a couple of months...seriously so often one question turns into 5 million questions!

OK so back to the first day.  So different than last year!  He couldn't wait to go.  At bedtime on Sunday night he said, " I can't wait to go to preschool tomorrow!"  SO cute!  But what wasn't cute that either due to the excitement of school or the fact that there was a mosquito buzzing around his room he didn't go to sleep UNTIL 3AM!  He cried and cried, "I am not tired I don't want to sleep!"  While all of us were exhausted and wanted to sleep.  SO when I woke him for school he was covered in hives and bug bites!  I am guessing from the stress but my oh my it was bad!  I debated not sending him, but he got tears in his eyes when I mentioned that so I calamine lotioned him up and off we went!  He couldn't wait!

Seriously LOVE this wall outside the school...NEED to do a winter photoshoot here!  Here is his first day outfit, it was a little fallish when we woke up so he opted for pants!

Thankfully my friend Catherine always reminds me to get the pictures of me and Holden on days like this:-)

He was READY to go though so he didn't necessarily think he needed this picture!  It was MUCH easier to send him off when he wanted to go and there were no tears!  I knew he would have fun, and I had several meetings that day so it worked out!  Grandmere was at home with Daniel, so I got to be with Holden by myself:-)

We were a little on the late side in the morning so we didn't get this door shot until after, and it was rushed! I didn't want anyone going out the door and running him over:-) The sun is terrible in that spot too! Oh well, LOVE that Ms. Wendy does up the door:-)

LOVE Ms. Wendy!

LOVE this kiddo, he never smiles for the camera anymore it's usually a crazy grin, or just a crazy face!  Here we go one more year until Kindergarten!  It looks likes it's going to be a GREAT year!

They Let me speak at church:-)

SO again I have been listening to God.  I have been seeking authenticity in my life for a while now, but over the last year MY life has changed.  Tom and I are on this journey of trying to figure out what it means to Worship God fully with our WHOLE life and looking at your life's purpose as being to worship God.

Anyway, I spoke at church a few Sundays ago.  You can listen to it here.  I LOVE to talk about this subject so if you are interested let me know:-)

Family Vacation : Day 2 in Idaho

This morning I let Tom sleep in a bit, and the boys and I made some TERRIBLE (a serving spoon is NOT a tablespoon!), some eggs and bagels...Holden as usual, ate his cereal too (special vacation cereal...Kix... the natural aisle in the grocery store is outrageously expensive!).  So we had a liesurely morning, and then headed out to the State Park, and the beach.  But not before Holden got in some swing time, and Daniel, well he just dirt bombed himself...in his PJs no less!

This is what happens when you walk by Daniel and he thinks you should have picked him up!
Beautiful Payette Lake
Holden before I said smile...
AND after...

We decided we would camp at the beach for the day...Holden jumped right in!...Daniel was feeling much better, he was all over the place!  He even crawled right into the water!  we ate our lunch in the sand, and played for quite a while...then it was time to kayak...Tom and Holden went out first again, since we wanted some non crying kaytaking:-)  After they returned I convinced Tom I could paddle us out myself...all 4 of us...he was tired and it's near impossible to paddle with Daniel in your lap...SO we headed out...soon after I was feeling all my paddling from the day before and Daniel was expressing how tired he was...so I turned us around and we paddled back.  Daniel went for a nap, and Tom and Holden headed out on their bikes...
A little sandy?
Love the two of them playing side by side!
Tom thought there should be some pictures of me on this trip:-)
I decided I better roll up my pants in case I had to jump in...
AND I did!  Daniel just crawled right in!
Big stuff!
Kisses!

THIS IS my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!!!Trying to pull the Kayak out of the water:-)

OK I'm done!

Holden rode so well!  And so far!  He is really doing well:-)  Daniel didn't even sleep the length of their ride...SO I was ready to head back when Tom returned...I begged Tom to help me load the car, and the kids and I headed back to the house, while Tom headed out on what we would later find out was quite the steep mountain bike ride...we watched Peter Pan, Daniel learned a valuable lesson about pulling things off the counter onto your head.  When he returned we were all exhausted from our days adventure so we relaxed and had another dinner outside...I especially enjoyed it because Tom cooked it!

The boys needed a serious bath AGAIN, the sign of a fun day!  And we put them to bed.  Tom is humoring me by working on the puzzle I got for this trip...it's 1000 pieces I don't think we are going to finish...oh well...I love puzzles all kind, word, number and picture!  I am a nerd:-)

Tomorrow is sure to be another fun day...

Family Vacation : Day 1 in Idaho

Our first full day in Idaho started a little rough.  Mom and Dad were tired from our early wake up yesterday, and the kiddos woke up at their usual times, well and Daniel didn't sleep superbly to begin with.  Anyway, we decided we needed to head out the door and grab some breakfast.  We loaded up the stroller and started our tour.  We weren't sure where to eat so we perused the town a little before settling in at the Foglifter Cafe.

I am not sure our fog was lifted, but we all were well fed and had some coffee/juice in us before we left.  Daniel was still having a bit of a rough morning, he wasn't feeling superb yesterday or today...hopefully tomorrow will be better for him. I won't go into details, but Daniel ended breakfast wearing only his diaper, SO we decided instead of touring more we would head over to look at the beach quick and then head back to the cabin.

Daniel was of course asleep when we arrived, so we took him out and put him to bed, somehow, I fell asleep too, and awoke what felt like a short time later to him just waking up.  Later I learned he and I had taken quite a decent nap!:-)

We loaded the kayak, and our beach stuff and headed out.  Holden requested some sand play first, a little lunch and then a kayak launch.  Everyone was all decked out in life vests and Tom and Holden headed out for a first little tour, before we took the moody one out!  From that point on Holden didn't want to get out of the kayak, so as soon as they returned we ALL loaded in and took a tour, Daniel couldn't decide how he felt about the kayak...Again when we got back Holden wanted another jaunt, so I decided to take him out.  We went a long way and had a good time.

Then it was time for swimming, Holden thought he had forgotten how, but with some prompting he was swimming in the lake:-)

About this time Daniel was done...so we packed up and headed out, to homebase, where while I made dinner Holden discovered a tree swing, and a dune buggy, Daniel was content to roam the deck and watch big brother...and of course play with the dune buggy when Holden let him:-)  Dinner was great out on the deck and we made a new friend in the neighbors dog.  My boys are in heaven:-)  You can tell by the amount of dirt that traveled down the drain off their bodies in the tub tonight, and by the silence we are now enjoying:-)  Good night, can't wait for tomorrow!
