2nd Day

A few tears when I left, but the teachers were amazed at how well he expresses what he needs...The teacher asked him what he wanted to do and he said, "I just need to cry a little bit" She said ok, and a minute later he came up to her and said, "I just need you to hold me", a minute of being held, "I just want the other teacher to hold me" So she did and she had him be her helper for snack, and he was fine...all smiles when I went to pick him up! Said he wants to go back and won't cry at all...

He did refuse to finger paint because it was messy and gooey...to funny...

First Day of Preschool...

Did I just write that? My baby can NOT be ready for preschool...but oh he was...when we dropped him off there were NO tears! I couldn't believe it!

The morning was a bit hectic...will need to work on that...Holden had a bad dream last night and came into our bed...so this morning when I got up at 730 our bed was full with Daniel, Holden, Tom and I...I smiled and thought..."what a great way to start his first day:-)" So I started snuggling with him tryiong to wake him...it was tough..but he woke up and was ready for breakfast and school!

On the way there he said to me, " Mom I don't want you to go"...I told him I would stay a bit and then all the parents would leave and Mrs. Wendy and Ms. Danica would be there...He said, "ok"

Then he says, "I am going to be shy like Red the fire truck in the CARS movie" I said, "ok but you will have more fun if you aren't shy"

Mrs. Wendy had the door ready for pictures...guess she forgot to order the shade:-) Still a priceless picture...

The buddies...I am so excited that Holden and Sutter will be in school together...for them and me...I get to hang out with my friend Catherine more:-) Playdates after school, park fun and lunches...so fun!

I hung out for a bit...although Holden went right to playing...but I had told him I would so I did...

They had blue playdough! His favorite! He and Sutter sat down to play, and we gave them the 2 minute warning...I expected at least some negotiations but no...he said ok...and when it was time, he gave me hugs and kisses and said goodbye...no tears nothing...I felt great! I would have had a hard time leaving him with tears...

Catherine caught me checking in through the window! Such a rookie! He was fine Mrs. Wendy went right over to him and engaged him in what he was doing...didn't even seem to remember I was gone!

This on the other hand is what Catherine and I found when we returned...she snapped this precious photo...my boy about 5 minutes from pick up time decided he needed me, and he hugged on to Ms. Danica until I returned...he was teary eyed when I got there...

Mrs. Wendy said he did great! She said he was more of an observer instead of a participant, which is totally normal for him at first...she said he did everything but never iniated...and then she said at the very end they got out musical instruments and it got loud, and suddenly, he wanted , "Mommy!" but he did good overall...

And he talked to the teacher while I was there, and told me all of what he did...gave her a big hug and said he would see her Thursday...she warned me Thursday may be harder because of the end of today, but we will see...

Signing out...again I LOVE my carrier! Works great for things like this!

When we got home Holden kissed Daniel, and told me he wanted to go back and next time he wouldn't cry at all! Let's hope so!

He has been singing songs since he got home some from school I think, and some he makes up! I LOVE that:-) When he sings the ABC's he gets all the letter right except for H, I, K, is H, R, K...not too shabby!

Hanging out at the park after class...Thanks Catherine!

Also, Holden told me, "The teacher was nice, she didn't have a gun" Ok it is true boys pick up on guns NO matter what you do...he has started talking about guns and I have no idea where he gets it...there was an article in Mothering Magazine one time all about this...

But whatever...I guess nice people don't have guns and mean people do, in his 3 year old world...

Overall a SUCCESS:-)

First Bath...

Today was Daniel's first bath...Remember Holden's? He liked his much better...maybe it was the baby bathtub, which of course we got rid of because we used it that once...then Holden just took bath's with mom:-) Maybe I should try that with Daniel...but I am afraid then it will be all the boys and mom in the tub!

As you can see Daniel was not too happy to be in the sink, at this point he seems to hate water:( He loves to be outside but doesn't like water touching him...hope he out grows that!

"Is THIS REALLY necessary mom!"

"Oh FINALLY done!"

Sleep

Umm...who do you suppose is putting who to sleep? The funny thing is after I took this Holden woke up and turned his music on...Grandpere stayed asleep...
Holden is an amazing sleeper...you read his two books, turn on his music...say a prayer and say good night, and he sleeps through the night...

So far Daniel is proving a bit harder:-) but he is only 3 weeks old:)

He likes to Build it Build it...

This morning Holden spent quite awhile "decorating" our room with his creations...each one had a name and a story...I really wish I had written THAT down...but alas I didn't! BUT I did have him model some of his faves...SO much fun...
I think one was a motorcycle...

He did come up with airplanes and butterflies, that actually had wings in the appropriate places etc. But I love his abstract work and the way his mind works...I believe he got my imagination, which I believe will be a blessing and a challenge. He is already telling me how his sweater grew arms and came alive at night...Oh my! I remember being little and afraid of the dark (I still am a little). As soon as the lights go off my mind goes crazy and shapes look like things they aren't and things seem to move...I remember being scared and being too afraid to even get up and go into my parents room...I hope it doesn't come to that for him, but he is already having crazy dreams, and tells me of things that "change when it's dark" poor guy...

He's so cute...and yes he is in his underwear, he is having undie time, sometimes that lasts all day! Hey, we stay at home, why bother?

And little brother, well he was oblivious to the genius that he was missing out on...someday he will have his own creations, I hope I get some on camera as well:-)

I'm coming back...

Really I am...I got so far behind...with births, some early some late...and adjusting to two kids...I am trying to get it all together:-)

I have a lot to say...

A Conversation with Daniel and Miss A

D: "Well Hellooo there...Watch Out! I can't control my hands..."
A: "Don't get too close with that thing!"

D: "Hmm maybe I will taste my hand"
A: "I'm bored"

D: "OK here's the plan..."
A: "No we will go with MY plan"

D: "Folks, I am not sure about this, NOT sure about this..."

A: "Listen up buster!"

D: "ooh now I am getting excited!"
A: "Trust me it will be GOOD"

A: "Ooh I am hungry! Just a little nibble"
D: "Hello mom, can you see this! Get out from behind that camera and SAVE ME!"

D: "Do I like this? Oh no I do not! MOMMY!!!!!"
A: "YUM!"

Some days...

Little Brother gets carried in the sling most of the day so mom can give Big Brother the time he craves...and we can be outside:-)
Or he gets left in the sling when finally put down hoping that he doesn't realize he's been put down:-)

We play in our pjs ALL DAY LONG, inside and outside who really cares?

We celebrate MANY birthdays with sand "birthdays"(Holden's word...instead of cake) and REALLY BIG spoons...

This is a great day...at the end of the day, I spend time with God thanking Him for my two awesome boys, and celebrating His goodness...

1-2 Week Photo shoot

I decided to take some more studio-y pictures of Daniel today, I had taken some of Holden around this same age...in the same outfit...see below:-)

Daniel is definitely a different kiddo from Holden...it's hard to remember exact details, but D seems much more intense...and he has a hard time going to sleep...Holden if we were out was usually asleep...he liked to block everything out...Daniel on the other hand takes it all in and then gets overly stimulated and has a hard time...so it's a new adventure:-)

There has been some colic speculation...there have been full days of crying that nothing relieves...not fun...could be normal newbornness...could be something else...I'm just trying to enjoy what I can and get through the rest:-) It's such a short time really...and then I spend a lot of time praising God that I have been so gifted with my two guys:-)

Don't you just want to snuggle little newborns...

Love getting close..LOVE the feet:-)

Everyone keeps asking us if he looks like Holden...well the pictures below are of Holden...there is some resemblance...but they are each their own...:-)
