Celebrate!

Today I am celebrating because my 3-hour, yes, the 3-hour, test came back totally normal! I DO NOT have Gestational Diabetes this time around! Yay! I am really excited...not because I want all things sugar, but mostly because I want to relax and enjoy this pregnancy with not extra Dr. visits, and blood testing and special diets...I did that with Holden, and while I would do it again for my baby, I am glad I don't HAVE too...Having it the first time really changed how I eat in general anyway, I am more aware of Carbs, sugars, and portion sizes...and while I don't eat a strict diet, I think about the food I eat!

A conversation with Holden:
Me: I got your nose! Why do you think we have noses?
Holden: We need them!
Me: Why do we need them?
Holden: For the boogies...
Me: What?
Holden: God made them to hold the boogies...

Nice huh?

Goodbye first house...

Tomorrow is moving day...the day we leave our first house behind...well as behind as making it a rental:-) Which might be worse...because then we will see what happens to it, instead of walking away and only having memories...

I'm sure its because I am pregnant but I am very nastalgic about leaving this house...sometimes even in tears, I love this house...This is the house we brought Mocha home to, and the house we said goodbye to her in...this is the house we brought Holden home from the hospital in...this is our first house together...we poured a lot of time and work into it, and I love it...I only hope I will love our new house as much or more...

Here are some memories in pictures...a before or during I should say and after not super current but it looks even better now...

When we moved in we took down fixtures like this...

and replaced them with this...hard to see sorry...this is also the FIRST color I painted the kitchen...it changed quickly:-) and Tom's mom made those curtains to replace a um dated valance...
We replaced the countertops and sinks eventually too...

I refinished this...

To look like this...

This is Holden's nursery...I can't believe it but I don't have pics of his room right before we started packing...it was way different all airplaned out! Oh well...I guess I will get pics of his room in the new house:-)

Our bedroom pretty early on...

The current well as we lived in it living room...as you can see we didn't get to ALL the fixtures...oh well...most anyway:-)

LOVE the double sided fireplace...Tom did ALL the tile work...we replaced most of the carpet/linoleum with tile...only leaving carpet in the living room and bedrooms...

The dining room...LOVE the red, but probably won't do it again...it's a bit limiting...
you can see a corner of the granite counter top Tom did:-) He's good I tell you!

So goodbye house...you were a great start to our marriage and family, we had fun pouring love into you...and sadly goodbye amazing oaks, you will be missed, you provided great photo backdrops, and shade...our new house has a bigger yard, but with newer landscaping so it lacks the shade trees and definitely not the huge old oaks! But it has a pool! So that is great:-) We will make the new house our own too, and we will love it I am sure, as I stayed awake the other night getting emotional about leaving...God gently reminded me that the important things were going with me to the new house...Him, and my family...after all it's those things that make our home...

I hope the people who rent our house are as blessed in there as we were...

Easter Cookies

Tante Beth found a recipe for Easter basket cookies that she thought the kids would enjoy...so we got them together and tried to make them...as Tom stated when we got home, "I thought you were making cookies, where are they?" Well, um, in our bellies...and no its not due to the pregnant mamas in attendance :-) The kids really only had the patience to make 0ne each and then eat them, and then the moms made one each and then ate them...and then it was probably nap time:-)

Miss P liked to point out what I was doing...like here, "picture!"
MJ was VERY serious as always when it comes to the sweet things...

More seriousness...you know it involved chocolate...so it was a serious endeavor...and the handle of the basket was licorice...each little one went through SEVERAL handles...

Finished products...Holden's cheeser face...oh how I miss the camera REAL smile! And Miss P's...

MJ...notice no handle even made the picture in hers:-) Gotta love that girl! It was fun times...and will get even more fun as they get older and enjoy the process more:-)

First Antibiotic...

Holden got his first antibiotic today...it was a busy day! He woke up and had what I thought was sleep in his eye...so I wiped it out...then I guess I kept doing it through out the morning, although I didn't notice...because have I mentioned we are in excrow on a house...Oh yeah, so packing, and running around that's what I do nowadays...but back to Holden...SO we are at trader Joes, and I realize I have wiped yuck out of his eyes 4 times! I find Tante Beth and say, "Look at his eyes", she says..."UhOh that's how MJ's eye infection started!" Oh No! Seriously? yup...over two weeks after MJ, Holden gets an eye infection...related? maybe but seems unlikely...

So...I call Tom, he calls Aaron...our trusty eye Dr., and friend, and we get an appointment...later Aaron confirms, a bacterial infection in Holden's eyes and antibiotics are needed...Holden's first ever! I guess I should be glad he has made it almost 3 years without an antibiotic...oh well...Hope it clears up soon! Meanwhile I am off to wash all the sheets and towels! Of course this comes on the day after Holden crawled into my bed in the middle of the night and slept with us! My eyes already itch! But then again that's normal for me!

Oh and we closed on our house today! I will be even more scarce for a bit...then will catch up:-)

Beth and MJ

Well awhile ago I took this picture...and since then Tom's mom has been wanting a picture of Tom's sister and MJ to go with it...so finally on Easter we got our chance...this was the result...

The lighting was awesome...too bad we couldn't have ditched the baby and bottle...oh well

90% of the pictures MJ was making some sort of similar face to this...she does this when I ask her to smile...fun stuff!

Too cute!

Getting tired of the shoot do something fun to distract...

Headed home all done...

Heard Recently - 06

Holden has a new thing...he makes up songs about whatever we may be talking about...usually we are having a conversation or someone will point something out and then he says, "I have a song about that..." and he proceeds to sing it...

Tante Beth today pointed out the cows...
"where" Holden asked,
"well now you missed them, they are behind the bush"
Holden: "The cows behind the bush, I have a song about that...wooo woo, the cows behind the bush woo woo" to no particular tune...he had another one but now I can't remember it...so cute...

Also we were "looking" for the horses on the way home from Grandmere's and we said maybe they were getting cozy in their barns, when we saw they were out, we said "say bye horsies"
Holden: "Bye Horses go get cozy in your blankets"
a little break...
"Pretend...the horses have to pretend to get cozy in their blankets"
He cracks me up!

Steak

And the boy who doesn't eat meat, ate steak tonight and "yiked it!" He finished it too, with the promise of some ice cream dessert...steak and corn on the cob:-) Made in the crockpot of course!

Crockpot...

If you have a crockpot and never use it check out this blog... 365 crockpot ...I have used my crockpot more in the past month than in the 7 years of our marriage...and everything I have made has been a hit! Currently I am checking out the summer recipes :)

Just a quick note...
